AMCoRE Academic Leads Participate in Inaugural Africa-Europe CoRE Conference

The academic leads from the ARUA-GUILD Multimorbidity Cluster of Research Excellence (AMCoRE) participated in the inaugural Africa-Europe Clusters of Research Excellence (CoRE) Conference. The conference, which brought together over 250 academics from Africa and Europe, was organized to strengthen research collaborations, share insights and challenges, plan future initiatives, and foster stronger partnerships across key research areas. It was held in Stellenbosch University, South Africa, from 29th September to 2nd October 2024.

Professors George Obeng Adjei and Paramjit Gill represented AMCoRE at the conference, contributing to discussions on collaborative research strategies, innovative health solutions, and the future of Africa-Europe academic partnerships. Throughout the sessions, they engaged with leading researchers, policymakers, and institutional leaders to explore new pathways for strengthening research ecosystems. Their active participation provided valuable visibility for AMCoRE’s mission and created opportunities for forging new alliances, sharing expertise, and advancing plans for impactful, cross-continental research projects focused on addressing critical health challenges.

AMCoRE focuses on addressing the escalating burden of multimorbidity. By leveraging digital technologies and artificial intelligence, it aims to close gaps in data quantification, disease clustering, trend prediction, and the evaluation of healthcare interventions. The project brings together a diverse team of researchers and institutions committed to strengthening research to inform policy and practice on multimorbidity.
