Prof. Obeng Adjei is a professor of paediatric clinical pharmacology and director of the Centre for Tropical Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, University of Ghana Medical School. He is a translational physician scientist with expertise in a range of clinical, laboratory and field research methods. He previously served as the director of Research, University of Ghana, Office of Research, Innovation and Development. He has over 20 years’ experience in medical practice and clinical research.

Professor Alfred Edwin Yawson has over two decades of medical practice and research experience in healthcare, academia, and research. As a physician, public health practitioner, academic, and researcher, he has made significant contributions to health care provision, research, and policy development, as well as training and mentoring of students. 

Professor Emilia Asuquo Udofia has 20 years of medical practice and nearly 17 years of research experience. Her research contributions span various areas, including Infectious diseases (HIV & AIDS, TB), reproductive health, environmental health (housing, medical waste management, health risks & oil pollution), non-communicable diseases, and women’s health.

Prof. Samuel Antwi Oppong is an enthusiastic physician-scientist deeply committed to advancing women's health issues in Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa through impactful service and research. He is a consultant obstetrician Gynaecologist at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and associate professor at University of Ghana Medical School. Notably, he has made pioneering contributions by establishing the first multi-disciplinary sickle cell disease (SCD) obstetric care and research team in Africa in 2015. Currently, he serves as the director of the largest SCD-Obstetric care program in Africa, overseeing operations across five sites in Ghana and managing approximately 600 pregnant women with SCD annually.

Dr. Dey Dzifa is a senior specialist physician rheumatologist who is dedicated to advancing rheumatology in Ghana. She has played a pioneering role in establishing the first clinic in the field of rheumatology in Ghana. Her research, primarily focusing on systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), delves into predictors, risk factors, and outcomes, particularly emphasising cognitive function and cardiovascular risks. She is passionate about preventive measures, advocating for early disease recognition and improved outcomes, aligning seamlessly with her strong interest in public health interventions and education.

Dr. Antoinette Afua Asiedua Bediako-Bowan is a consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH). She is presently the head of the Colorectal Unit at the KBTH. She provides specialized surgical services, primarily focusing on colorectal diseases. Her research interests revolve around colorectal diseases, particularly colorectal cancers. She also has an interest in infection control practices and antibiotic use in surgical practice, specifically focusing on reducing hospital-acquired infections, including surgical site infections and antimicrobial resistance.

Dr. Josephine Nsaful is a consultant General Surgeon with special interest in breast cancer. She is also a Senior Lecturer in surgery at the University of Ghana Medical School. Her research focuses on various aspects of breast cancer, particularly its distinctive characteristics in individuals of African origin. Recognizing variations in disease behavior and treatment responses among different populations, her research encompasses quality of life, survival outcomes, metastatic disease, and comprehensive patient and public education on breast cancer.

Dr Kwaku Asah-Opoku is a consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital with subspecialty practice in Reproductive Health and Family Planning. He is the current head of the Reproductive Health and Family Planning Unit of the hospital.

Dr. Akpalu is a consultant physician, endocrinologist and diabetologist at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and head, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, University of Ghana Medical School. Her research interests primarily revolve around non-communicable diseases (NCD), with a specific focus on diabetes, endocrine, and cardiometabolic disorders. In addition to her clinical services, Dr. Akpalu plays an important role in medical education, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She actively contributes to the training of newly qualified doctors during their internship. 

Dr Isaac Obeng Asiedu is a senior surgical specialist and Urologist at the Department of Surgery, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH). He has a special research focus on urological oncology and kidney transplantation. He is a key member of the kidney transplant team at KBTH. 

Dr. Catherine Segbefia is a consultant paediatrician, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and senior lecturer in the Department of Child Health at the University of Ghana Medical School. As a paediatric haematologist/oncologist, she has a keen interest in haemoglobinopathies, haemostasis/thrombosis, and haematologic malignancies.

Dr. Charles F. Hayfron-Benjamin is a physiologist, anesthesiologist, and critical care physician, with extensive expertise in pulmonary and vascular function evaluation. He is also skilled in cardiac function testing and evaluation of exercise capacity. He is a senior lecturer at the Department of Physiology, University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS), and the consultant in charge of the pulmonary function program at UGMS. His research is centered on pulmonary and vascular dysfunction, especially in diabetes and sickle cell disease. He is also a bioethicist with a keen interest in clinical research ethics.

Dr. Delali Fiagbe has a comprehensive background in psychiatry, psychology, and neurology, with specialization in neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, and neuromodulation. His research interests are centered around the neuropsychiatric dimensions of cognitive dysfunction, with a specific focus on studying neurocognitive impairments in individuals affected by conditions such as HIV/AIDS. Dr. Fiagbe is dedicated to developing targeted interventions to support vulnerable populations in the mental health space. 

Dr. Mame Yaa Adobea Nyarko is a senior paediatric specialist and Medical Superintendent of the Princess Marie Louise Hospital in Accra, Ghana. Dr. Nyarko’s research focuses on childhood nutrition and newborn health. She has been involved in research, especially at the Princess Marie Louise Hospital, often as the clinical lead. In addition to her roles at Princess Marie Louise Hospital, Dr. Nyarko serves as an adjunct lecturer and examiner for various institutions, including the University of Ghana Medical School, Family Health Medical School, and the Accra College of Medicine. She is also an examiner for the University of Allied Health and Sciences. Dr. Nyarko actively contributes to medical education by training house officers and resident physicians in paediatrics and examining candidates for both the West Africa College of Physicians and the Ghana College of Physicians.
