AMCoRE's Early Career Research Fellow Dr Evans Duah Presents Findings at Ghana Health Service Annual Research Dissemination Forum 2026

As part of his ARUA–Carnegie–Mastercard Early Career Research Fellowship with the Africa–Europe Cluster of Research Excellence (AMCoRE) for Multimorbidity, Dr Evans Duah presented findings from the evidence synthesis phase of his fellowship at the Ghana Health Service (GHS) Annual Research Dissemination Forum.

The three-day forum brought together researchers, health professionals, policymakers, and other stakeholders to share research findings and discuss their implications for Ghana’s health system. Dr Duah’s presentation focused on his scoping review, “Integrated Screening for Communicable and Non-communicable Diseases Multimorbidity in Low- and Middle-income Countries: A Scoping Review.” View publication

The review synthesised available evidence on integrated approaches to screening for communicable and non-communicable diseases among people experiencing or at risk of multimorbidity in low- and middle-income countries. The presentation provided an opportunity to share the findings with colleagues at the Ghana Health Service National Headquarters and engage with health-sector stakeholders on the relevance of the evidence to integrated and responsive health service delivery.

The dissemination formed part of Dr Duah’s broader fellowship activities at the Centre for Tropical Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (CTCPT), University of Ghana Medical School, under AMCoRE. The fellowship supports early-career researchers to generate evidence and strengthen research collaboration across African institutions and the wider Africa–Europe research community.

Dr Duah acknowledged the guidance and support of his mentors, Prof. George Obeng-Adjei, Prof. Tivani Mashamba-Thompson, and Prof. Paramjit Gill, throughout the fellowship and research process.

He also expressed appreciation to the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA), AMCoRE, and the Ghana Health Service Research Dissemination Directorate for providing a platform for researchers to share evidence and engage directly with health-sector stakeholders.

The presentation reflects the fellowship’s broader emphasis on moving from evidence synthesis to implementation, with research aimed at informing integrated approaches to multimorbidity and strengthening health systems in African settings.
