Nyarko, Mame Yaa Adobea (MBChB, FWACP, FGCPS)

Dr. Mame Yaa Adobea Nyarko is a senior paediatric specialist and Medical Superintendent of the Princess Marie Louise Hospital in Accra, Ghana. Dr. Nyarko’s research focuses on childhood nutrition and newborn health. She has been involved in research, especially at the Princess Marie Louise Hospital, often as the clinical lead. In addition to her roles at Princess Marie Louise Hospital, Dr. Nyarko serves as an adjunct lecturer and examiner for various institutions, including the University of Ghana Medical School, Family Health Medical School, and the Accra College of Medicine. She is also an examiner for the University of Allied Health and Sciences. Dr. Nyarko actively contributes to medical education by training house officers and resident physicians in paediatrics and examining candidates for both the West Africa College of Physicians and the Ghana College of Physicians.

Dr. Nyarko obtained her medical degree from the University of Ghana Medical School. She is a Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and West Africa College of Physicians. She is a member of the Ghana Medical Association, Medical Women Association of Ghana, Paediatric society of Ghana, European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and the Ghana Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship. She is also a patron of the Christian Medical Fellowship – Korle-Bu branch. 

Dr. Nyarko is a Children’s ministry worker and passionate about growing and mentoring children and young people to be responsible citizens of the society. She loves reading Christian literature and loves to collaborate with other researchers to conduct impactful studies.
